Terms of Service
Critical warning. These Terms contain limitations of liability, disclaimers, and an indemnification. The app is for educational and entertainment purposes only. AI can and will make mistakes. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
1. Acceptance
By downloading or using Cat Breed Identifier, you agree to these Terms with TQ Tech. The app is distributed on Google Play under package name tq.tech.catid.
2. The service
The app helps you explore likely cat breeds from photos using automated AI, plus a photo quiz and on-device history. Results are for general information and entertainment.
- Not a substitute for a veterinarian or animal health professional.
- Does not certify pedigree, registration, DNA, or purebred status.
- Does not appraise or price animals.
3. Subscriptions
- Weekly Pro — US list price $1.99 / week, auto-renewing. A 3-day free trial is offered when Google Play displays it at checkout.
- Yearly Pro — US list price $9.99 / year, auto-renewing.
Prices, currencies, and taxes are set by Google Play. Free users receive three lifetime identifications and three Ask AI questions. The quiz stays free. Pro unlocks unlimited scans and Ask AI, subject to a fair-use daily cap.
Subscriptions renew unless you cancel in Google Play before the period ends. Cancel: Play Store → profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions. Uninstalling the app does not cancel billing. Refunds are handled by Google Play.
4. Acceptable use
Do not abuse the service (automated scraping, bypassing quotas, or submitting content you do not have rights to share). We may suspend access for violations.
5. AI disclaimer
Important reminder. ALL breed suggestions, match percentages, trait notes, care or grooming tips, Ask AI answers, and quiz content are APPROXIMATE and for EDUCATIONAL / ENTERTAINMENT PURPOSES ONLY. AI can and will make mistakes. Results may be COMPLETELY INCORRECT — especially for mixed-breed cats. This app is NOT veterinary advice, a health diagnosis, a pedigree or registration certificate, a DNA test, or a valuation of any animal. NEVER make medical, breeding, adoption, sale, or legal decisions based on this app without independent professional verification. Consult a veterinarian for health concerns.
6. Intellectual property
The app, branding, and design are owned by TQ Tech. You retain rights to photos you take or pick. By tapping Identify or Ask AI, you grant a limited license to send that photo or question to our backend and a third-party AI solely to return a result. Photos you submit are not stored as a user archive on our servers. We CANNOT delete copies third-party AI providers may briefly handle under their own policies.
Some breed photos used in the quiz were collected from public sources on the internet. We make every effort to use freely available material. If you own the rights to an image and would like it credited or removed, email tqtechofficial@gmail.com and we will act promptly.
7. Limitation of liability
Limitation of liability — to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:
- WE SHALL HAVE NO LIABILITY FOR ANY DAMAGES, LOSSES, OR CLAIMS ARISING FROM USE OF THIS APP.
- THE APP AND SERVICES ARE PROVIDED ON AN “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND.
- THIS IS AN EDUCATIONAL AND ENTERTAINMENT TOOL ONLY — AI CAN AND WILL MAKE MISTAKES.
- ALL BREED IDENTIFICATIONS, MATCH PERCENTAGES, TRAIT NOTES, CARE TIPS, AND ASK AI ANSWERS ARE APPROXIMATE AND MAY BE COMPLETELY INCORRECT.
- WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
- WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, PUNITIVE, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES.
- WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR RELIANCE ON BREED ESTIMATES, ASK AI ANSWERS, OR ANY OTHER APP OUTPUT.
- WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ERRORS OR INCORRECT IDENTIFICATIONS FROM THIRD-PARTY AI PROVIDERS.
- WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR VETERINARY, BREEDING, ADOPTION, SALE, OR LEGAL DECISIONS BASED ON THE APP.
- WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR HARM TO AN ANIMAL OR PERSON RESULTING FROM FOLLOWING THE APP’S OUTPUT.
- WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR HOW THIRD-PARTY AI PROVIDERS HANDLE, PROCESS, STORE, OR RETAIN YOUR IMAGES OR DATA.
Nothing here limits rights you cannot waive under consumer law in your country.
8. Indemnification
Indemnification. You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless TQ Tech and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or relating to: (a) your use of the app; (b) your violation of these Terms; (c) photos or text you submit; (d) reliance on breed identifications, Ask AI answers, or other output; (e) decisions based on the app’s outputs; (f) errors or incorrect identifications from third-party AI; or (g) any harm to an animal or person resulting from acting on the app’s output.
9. Third-party services
Absolute third-party disclaimer. Identification and Ask AI use third-party AI providers (which may include OpenAI, Google Gemini, DeepSeek, OpenRouter, and OpenCode Zen). Payments go through Google Play and RevenueCat. Analytics, crashes, and performance use Google Firebase. We do not control these services and have ABSOLUTELY NO LIABILITY for their privacy practices, security, or data handling. You use them at your own risk.
10. Changes
We may update these Terms. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance, except where the law requires additional notice or consent.
